SAN MIGUEL CORPORATION, AKING KAMAG-ANAK

Govt to guarantee MRT 7 rail
By Alena Mae S. Flores | Aug. 25, 2014 at 12:01am
The government has agreed to provide a financial guarantee to Metro Rail Transit Line 7, allowing proponent San Miguel Corp. to start the construction of the P62.7-billion rail project within the year, Transportation Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya said over the weekend.
Abaya said the Finance Department issued the performance undertaking for the 22.8-kilometer rail project.
A performance undertaking, or a financial guarantee given by the government to the contractor, is a requirement for the financial closure of a project that would be partially funded by official development assistance from multilateral banks or foreign lenders.
“The performance undertaking has been signed by [Finance] Secretary [Cesar] Purisima. We have signed our implementing guidelines, so it is a matter of calling them [proponent] and giving it to them, so that’s already a go,” Abaya told reporters.
“The next step, once the performance undertaking is given to them, they should commence financial close. What I’m requesting them to do is to do it sooner than 18 months, but they’re saying they could do advanced works once they get the green light. I hope they can do it before next year,” Abaya said.
The National Economic and Development Authority board, chaired by President Benigno Aquino III, approved the MRT 7 project, an unsolicited offer from conglomerate San Miguel Corp. in November 2013.
MRT 7 involves the construction of a 22.8-kilometer rail system from North Avenue station in Quezon City, passing through Commonwealth Avenue, Regalado Avenue and Quirino Highway, to the proposed intermodal transportation terminal in San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan.
The project, first proposed by Universal LRT Corp. Ltd. nearly a decade ago, was delayed because of the company’s failure to secure a performance undertaking from the Finance Department.
San Miguel, through unit San Miguel Holdings Corp., acquired a 51-percent interest in Universal LRT in 2010.
San Miguel awarded the engineering, procurement, construction contract to the Marubeni-DMCI consortium.
San Miguel earlier said once the performance undertaking was given by the Finance Department, the processing for the financial closure could be received within the year.
The company said construction of the project was estimated to take 42 months.  Once completed, MRT 7 is expected to serve 850,000 passengers daily.

what Tribune says

Noynoy and his Liberal Party, especially its president, Mar Roxas, the presidential anointee, by now realize that they can no longer escape blame and responsibility for whatever damaging issue comes their way, as like it or not, Noynoy’s presidency and his administration have already been defined negatively on the basis of their mishandling of the “Yolanda” crisis.
As they would be defined by their inaction and uncaring nature, this would have a negative impact on the LP bid to stay in power after 2016.
It will be difficult for Noynoy and the LP to get the electorate to trust them again to do a good job, even after the Yolanda crisis settles down, because there will be more crises coming their way — and not just on issues such as typhoons and earthquakes.
Before Yolanda, Noynoy and his aides somehow always got away with evading responsibility and accountability, even as they continued playing the blame game. It was always somebody else’s fault, never theirs. And whatever promises they made but were never fulfilled, people somehow glossed over, mainly due to Noynoy’s yellow media and his yellow manipulated surveys that constantly gave him high popularity ratings even when other items in the same surveys were already clearly contradictory, such as high concerns of the respondents over government poor performance.
But with the blame game played by Noynoy in Tacloban, three days after the monster typhoon hit the Visayas, with Leyte and Samar being brought to their knees, it was much too clear to Filipinos that Noynoy and his LPs have gone too far in evading responsibility for their unpreparedness, unfeeling and uncaring national government’s response to the crisis in these two provinces.
Filipinos saw for themselves how Noynoy and his aides continued to play the blame game and vindictive politics in Tacloban, three days into the typhoon crisis and their failed bid to evade responsibility, which brought back all those other times that Noynoy evaded responsibility over the many other crises, not to mention his and his government’s unpreparedness for any sort of crisis, sometimes of their own making.
They remembered the way Noynoy and his LP allies mishandling of the August 2010 Manila hostage crisis, and his refusal to accept responsibility for the botched hostage rescue which left at least eight Hong Kong tourists dead, with one more still in the ICU to this day.
Worse, Noynoy refused to charge his allies who were responsible for their botched rescue operations and to this day, no sanctions have been meted for their criminal negligence.
Talk has been making the rounds that the Tacloban mayor, Alfred Romualdez, who is a Noynoy foe, for being related to Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos, a day after Yolanda hit the city and the province, had already asked the national disaster council to come to their aid, as devastation of his city was massive. His call went unheeded. The second day, a Sunday, Romualdez was said to have pleaded for the national government to send the military and the police forces to take over the peace and order situation.
Even on the third day, when Noynoy flew to Tacloban, and there were already reports of looting, starvation and people exposed to the elements, as they have lost their homes, Noynoy was still on his blame game mode, compounded by his political vindictiveness, as he even walked out of the disaster council meeting, refusing to heed the pleas of businessmen who had complained of looting and of being shot for trying to stop the looting of their stores. This was met by a stony “well, you’re not dead, are you?” response.
And even on the fifth day, there was hardly any strong government presence or even the military presence. It had to take international media to bring this issue out.
All these will be remembered, now and in 2016, as the people now know that they have been served so poorly by a president whose propaganda of thei being his boss was believed, but whose belief today has been shattered by Noynoy and his LPs through their uncaring ways.

You are absolutely right! Even my kasambahay who is from Capiz, declares "wala hong kwenta yang si abnoy. Selective ho ang tulong niya. Maski ho yung si Mar Roxas, ni hindi ho nanalo sa amin yan."

How then in heaven's name can they come forth and aspire for higher office or a continuance? People are saying, that it should have been Gibo who should have been president. He would know what to do in crisis situations and he cannot be dictated upon by allies and kkk. He knows how to lead! Ang pagsisisi ay talagang nasa huli. Although I did not vote for Gibo or any candidate associated with GMA. Now I wonder how many people are regretting not having done so?

The LP and its candidates, will definitely lose in 2016. There is no way for them to ingratiate themselves back to the people's trust and confidence.

WHAT THEY DO NOT WANT US TO KNOW!

ASEAN INTEGRATION IN 2015

WHAT THEY DO NOT WANT US TO KNOW:

 1.  PHILIPPINE ECONOMY WILL BE OPENED UP TO FOREIGN GOODS AND SERVICES THAT WILL COMPETE WITH DOMESTIC PRODUCTION AND LOCAL TALENTS.

2. AS THE ASEAN INTEGRATION HAS NOT BEEN STUDIED AND SANCTIONED BY THE LEGISLATURE, IT SEEMS THAT THIS HIGHLY SYSTEMATIZED COMMERCIAL INTEGRATION WILL BYPASS OFFICIAL APPROVAL AND MAY POSSIBLY BRING ABOUT GREAT DAMAGE IN THE PHILIPPINE ECONOMY, WREAK HAVOC TO THE PHILIPPINE CONSTITUTION AND WITH  LOSS OF PROTECTION TO FILIPINO LABOR.

3. ASEAN INTEGRATION IMPOSES CHEAP GOODS AND PRODUCTS; PHILIPPINE PRODUCTS MAY NOT BE ABLE TO COMPETE WITH THE WORLD MARKET.
TRUTH BE TOLD, ONLY DANDING COJUANGCO, LUCIO TAN, TONYBOY COJUANGCO AND RAMON ANG'S PRODUCTS WILL BE THE ONLY ONES TO FARE WITH THE COMPETITION.
SMALL TIME ENTREPRENEURS AND CRAFTSMEN WILL BE "KILLED". SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO CAPITAL TO EXPORT THEIR PRODUCTS.

4. ASEAN INTEGRATION WILL INTRODUCE FOREIGN SKILLS AND TALENTS, THUS, FOREIGN COMPETITION VERSUS LOCAL PRC HOLDERS.

               TALONG-TALO NA TAYO DITO.

IMAGINE, A FOREIGN LAWYER OR A LAND APPRAISER PRACTICING OUR "OWN" LAWS WITHOUT SECURING "PERMIT" FROM GOVERNMENT AGENCIES. IT WILL BECOME EVEN MORE PERNICIOUS IF THESE PRACTICES WILL BE INSTITUTIONALIZED.

OUR OWN PROFESSIONALS WILL BE OSTRACIZED BY INVESTORS AND SHOT "DEAD"!
KAKAININ TAYO NG BUHAY!

5. THE K-12 PROGRAM WAS DESIGNED WAS ENCOURAGE OUR CHILDREN TO DO MANUAL LABOR FOR FOREIGN COMPANIES AND FOR DOMESTIC OLIGARCH COMPANIES.

THEY WANT US TO PERFORM BLUE COLLAR JOBS FOR THEM.
IN SHORT: CHIMAY AT CHIMOY! MGA EN-GRANDENG KATULONG AT BOY!
BERNIE VILLEGAS, A MEMBER OF THE RICH AND ELITE OPUS DEI BASED IN NEW YORK, ALSO ENCOURAGES US TO DO A "PARADIGM SHIFT".
                                  PARADIGM SHIFT?

AT THE EXPENSE OF A HIGHER NATIONAL EDUCATION THAT WILL CREATE FILIPINO MASTER TEACHERS, BETTER MANAGERS, BUSINESS OWNERS, STATESMEN, HEAD ENGINEERS, SUPERIOR INFORMATION TECHNOLOGISTS, HEAD NURSES, SUPERVISING ACCOUNTANTS, WORLD-CLASS PILOTS, PROFESSIONAL FIREFIGHTERS, EMINENT SCIENTISTS, FUTURE CAPITALISTS, PRODUCERS, ARTISANS, EXECUTIVES AND EVEN RAGS-TO-RICHES MAGNATES?

WHERE IS THE ECONOMIC HIGHGROUND HERE?
PUTANG-INA KA BERNIE VILLEGAS, PALIBHASA YOU SERVE THE ELITE AND RICH OPUS DEI!!!
YOU FUCKING WANT US TO SERVE OLIGARCHS AND FOREIGN MASTERS AGAIN??

                            AT OUR OWN DOORSTEP???

AFTER 330 YEARS OF FOREIGN OCCUPATION IN THIS COUNTRY???

CIRCUMVENTING OUR TIME-HONORED PHILIPPINE CONSTITUTION, THAT PRESIDENT ABNOY NOW, IS DESECRATING???

YOU WANT US TO VIOLATE OUR OWN LAWS???

IS THAT THE REASON WHY YOU ARE IN FAVOR OF THE WITHDRAWAL OF MILLIONS OF PESOS IN BUDGET FOR OUR STATE COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES?

IS THAT THE REASON WHY YOU ARE SUPPORTING THE EXPENSIVE AND BURDENSOME K-12 EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM OF THE GOVERNMENT?

PARA KUMITA KAMING MGA PILIPINO SA PAGHUHUGAS NG PUWET NG MGA OLIGARCHS LIKE THE COJUANGCOS AND ARANETAS AND MADRIGALS AND FOREIGN COMPANIES SA SARILING BANSA NAMIN???

YOU WANT TO DUMB US AGAIN AND AGAIN???
                   FUCK YOU PUTANG-INA KA!!!

THERE ARE 3 MAIN FUCKING REASONS WHY WE, THE PEOPLE, THE PROFESSIONALS, THE HEROIC MIDDLE CLASS TAXPAYERS, ARE EARNING COLLEGE DEGREES AND POST GRADUATE COURSES:

1. TO IMPROVE OUR CAREERS, LEADING TO A BETTER COMPENSATION, PROMOTION AND FULFILLMENT OF THE FILIPINO DREAM;

2. TO DEVELOP OURSELVES INTO BECOMING BETTER EXECUTIVES, ENTREPRENEURS, SCIENTISTS, ENGINEERS OR COMMUNITY LEADERS AND;

2. TO CHALLENGE YOU PEOPLE!

BECAUSE OLIGARCHS, CACIQUES AND ELITE RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS LIKE WHERE YOU BELONG, KEEP THIS COUNTRY IGNORANT, DOCILE, PATHETICALLY RELIGIOUS, PARASITIC, WEAK, POOR AND SERVILE!
JAPAN IS A BUDDHIST COUNTRY. BUT THEY ARE A  TECHNOLOGICAL CLASS.

AMERICA IS A PROTESTANT COUNTRY. BUT THEY ARE AN ENTERPRISING NATION.

THE PHILIPPINES PRIDES ITSELF AS A CATHOLIC NATION BUT MANY FILIPINOS ARE STILL DUMB!
                                              WHY?

DAHIL GINAGAGO NIYO ANG MGA PILIPINO.
MGA ELEMENTARY-LEVEL PA LANG SILA, GINAGAGO NIYO NA!

PEOPLE LIKE YOU, LIKE THE OLIGARCHS, LIKE THE CACIQUES, LIKE THE JESUITS, ARE A PLAGUE TO THIS COUNTRY.
YOU KEEP ON INTERFERING WITH THE POLICIES OF THE GOVERNMENT, THAT IT NOW, BECOMES MORALLY AND LEGALLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR THIS COUNTRY AND ITS PEOPLE TO BECOME ECONOMICALLY DEVELOPED ,PERSONALLY  AFFLUENT AND WISE.
YOU PEOPLE CONTINUE TO SABOTAGE OUR COUNTRY AND YOU KEEP ON ADVERTISING SO MANY FUCKING DOCTRINES!. . . .THAT HAS NO RELEVANCE TO THE TRUE DESTINY OF THIS COUNTRY.
WE HOPE THAT ONE DAY,  PEOPLE  AND ORGANIZATIONS LIKE YOURS, LIKE THE JESUITS, BE EXPELLED AND DISBARRED FROM OPERATING IN THIS GOOD COUNTRY!
WE PRAY THAT MORE FILIPINOS WILL WAKE UP.

AND WE ALSO PRAY THAT IF A NATIONAL REVOLUTION IS THE ANSWER TO THIS NATION'S RECURRING PROBLEMS . . . .THEN SO BE IT.
                            LET'S BE DONE WITH IT.
                  THE SOONER THE BETTER.

RED FLAGS FOR THE 2015 ASEAN INTEGRATION!

RP should industrialize like Sokor — expert
    Written by  Tribune

President Aquino’s boast in South Korea that the Philippines will soon follow in the footsteps of the prosperous Asian neighbor remains long way off and industrialization is needed for the Philippines to realize the goal of becoming a new tiger economy, economist and University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) professor Bernie Villegas said.

Filipinos have to change their mindset about blue collar jobs as skilled workers will bring industrialization to the country, he said.
Villegas noted that skilled workers are the backbone of the manufacturing industry which will support inclusive growth in the country.

However, he said Filipinos should have a “paradigm shift” and look at blue collar jobs as critical contributor of economic growth as these jobs were often demeaned in the country.
Villegas cited that this culture has started during childhood since parents instill in children that the best jobs are those of doctor, engineer, lawyer and business managers.
Understanding the worth of skilled workers is also limited, according to Villegas.

“Few have realized that they can make more money out of being a plumber than being a lawyer (for some instances),” he said.
Further, Villegas mentioned that the country should now take advantage of the K+12 program and devote the last two years of the new education system into skills training.
“Convert this last two years in skills training program because the knowledge of these graduates will drive industrialization,” he noted.
The government shall also provide support and assure that the K+12 program will properly work, he added.
Aside from the skills training program, reviving manufacturing within rural areas will be crucial for industrialization.
In order to achieve this, Villegas said that the country will get these investors to develop within these zones, as much as possible away from Metro Manila.
And also, getting more “technical people” who are now working abroad will be very helpful for industrialization.
However, he said that the government should have a competitive offer to these offshore workers in order for them to come back and work in the Philippines.
The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), which is the largest business organization in the country, expects the economy to recover from the effects of recent political scandals and natural disasters.
PCCI president Miguel Varela said the economy will still be able to maintain its momentum as it already gained interests from other countries.
Varela noted that even with the past natural calamities such as the killer earthquake in Central Visayas and typhoons which ravaged some regions, foreign investors are keen to expand businesses in the country.
“(The) Philippines received so much interest (from other countries) based on business missions we participated (in),” he said.
The business group leader added that investors prioritized the strengths and potential of the Philippine economy rather than circumstances which can be resolved.
PCCI mentioned said the emergence of political issues nowadays including the controversial pork barrel system is actually a mark that the government is in the “cleansing stage” within its bureaus, addressing corruption in the country.
”This will serve as momentum of transformation despite issues on politics, disasters and territorial issues, among others,” said Varela.
“At the end of the day it’s business as usual for the Philippine economy,” the PCCI president concluded.
In his arrival message at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 in Pasay City on Friday evening, Aquino said he went home from South Korea with strong determination to achieve progress similar to South Korea’s gains.
The President likewise asked the support of every Filipino to join the collective effort to transform the country into a more progressive nation.
Also in his message, the President said he got the support of President Park Geun-Hye for the country’s quest for stability in its disputed territory.
There was fruitful discussion on the issues of defense, disaster response, trade, maritime dispute and sports, the President said.
President Park committed South Korea’s assistance to Zamboanga City, which was devastated by recent violence as well as to the Visayas region affected by a strong earthquake this week.
South Korean companies like Hanjin have committed to intensify its investment in the country, he reported. The Korea Electric Power Corp., which contributes to around 10 percent of power generated in the country, wanted to widen its operations in the Philippines.
Lotte, company engaged in hotel business, wants to put up hotel projects in the Visayas region, the President said. It also eyes to invest in other parts of the country to build more hotels, theme park, office space, and others.
South Korea’s National Pension Service has an available billion that could be invested in the Philippines each year, according to the President.
The extraordinary developments in the Philippine economy have generated a lot of interest in South Korea to bring its money here and invest, Aquino said.
The President also said he had a successful interaction with Filipinos leaving or staying in South Korea while in his two-day state visit to that country.
